The Zebulon Greenway Master Plan project has made the news. On January 9, an article about the planning process was published in the Eastern Wake News. We expect to be making plenty of news over the next 6 months as we develop a plan for this great community resource. And if you see this project mentioned in the newspaper, on TV, or on the Internet let us know. Keep checking back as we will be updating the web site on a regular basis.
Firm seeking public input on Zebulon’s greenway master plan
BY AARON MOODY
ZEBULON — Town leaders have chosen a consultant to oversee the creation of a greenway master plan, and are now asking the public to get involved in the process.
Two open house sessions on the greenway plan will be held in the Zebulon Town Hall front lobby this Tuesday, Jan. 13; from 7:30-10 a.m. and 6-8 p.m. The sessions will give residents a chance to learn about greenways and offer feedback.
Because the planning process spans the next six months, the public is encouraged to share input on locations for Zebulon’s future greenways and amenities with the town’s staff and elected officials.

On Tuesday, January 13th, we will be holding the first public open house for the planning of the Town’s Greenway Master Plan. We understand everyone has different schedules so we will be conducting a session in the morning and a session in the evening. Both sessions will be at the Zebulon Town Hall in the lobby.
Morning Session: 7:30 am to 10 am
Evening Session: 6 pm to 8 pm
The open house format is a great opportunity to share your ideas with the design team and with the Town staff. We will be talking about what greenways are and what benefits they provide to the community. We will be there to answer any questions you have and to listen to your ideas and concerns. We want to know what is important to you … where you want the greenways to connect and what amenities should be included.
This open house will be very informal. There will not be a presentation and you can stay as long or as short as you like. We look forward to meeting you and to talking about this exciting project in your town.
If you have any questions, you can leave a comment on this page or send us an email at email@example.com.
We want to hear what you ave to say. After all, this will be your Greenway System and you know the Town of Zebulon better than we do. The key to the success of any Greenway system is the community’s sense of ownership of the system. By involving you in the planning process, we hope to help build that sense of ownership so that you can have a Greenway system that you can be proud of.
As we move forward with the planning for the Greenway Master Plan, there will be a variety of ways for you to provide input. There will be surveys that you can fill out online or at Town Hall. We will host open houses and community forums. And we will present to various civic groups and Town boards. The first opportunity to let your voice be heard is by filling out our initial survey – don’t worry, it’s only 10 questions. You can follow the link below to our Survey Monkey page, or you can print out the form below, fill it out and drop it off at Town Hall.
And you always send us an email with your thoughts or questions: firstname.lastname@example.org
We can’t wait to hear what you have to say!
Welcome to the Zebulon Greenways web site. We’re glad you stopped by.
As the Town of Zebulon embarks on their exciting Greenways project, we will use this space to keep you up to date on the progress, make sure you are informed about Greenways and the projects and we will provide you plenty of opportunities to participate in the planning process. After all, this Greenway System will be planned and built for you.
Before we get too far down the road, let’s bring you up to speed and tell you what this is all about. At the end of 2014, obs landscape architects and AMT Engineers, both based in Raleigh, were contracted by the Town of Zebulon to develop a Master Plan for a town-wide Greenway system. Before any trees are cleared, before any asphalt is put down, before any construction drawings are compiled, we want to plan out a clear vision for the Greenway System … in other words, over the next several months we will be developing a master plan to guide future design and construction of the Greenways.
Please be sure to check back often for updates and for opportunities to participate. We look forward to hearing from you and to providing you with the best Greenway system we can.
